John, a young aviation engineer, returns to his home town on the Mexico/Arizona border and starts refurbishing an old biplane. But romance awaits John in the person of Sarah Needings, a lonely Army corporal who patrols the border with her superior officer Harold Witowski, who immediately suspects that John is a terrorist and a spy. Harold has a shocking, wonderful surprise in store -- but he may learn of John's true identity too late to avoid disaster...
