Western, USA, 1928



Jim Dane, arriving at the Halliday ranch to see Ann, his sweetheart, finds the Brannon brothers persecuting Ann's father, Colonel Halliday. They have already taken Halliday's cattle, which they claim according to a Spanish land grant, and are about to take the horses when Jim drives them away. The case comes to trial, and Brannon, presenting the fake land grant, thinks he has won. When a fire starts in the building, however, the document is destroyed. The Brannon gang, realizing that Dane is a threat to their plans, try to kill him, but he frustrates them. The Brannons take Ann prisoner, but Dane comes to the rescue and holds off the gang until help arrives.
