Anna Richter (NICOLETTE KREBITZ multiple award winning German actress) is a poor German girl, living in Berlin, with dreams of going to America. Her hopes are all but shattered when she becomes pregnant and reluctantly decides to have her baby. But fate steps in when she meets a wealthy American couple, Derek Mitchelson (MATT McCOY "The Hand That Rocks The Cradle") and his wife Carla (MARITA GERAGHTY "Don Juan De Marco," "Ground Hog Day," "Sleeping With The Enemy") who is also expecting a baby -- or so she claims. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world, the Mitchelsons have lost their baby and are now determined to have one -- no matter whose it is. As Carla Mitchelson's apparent delivery date approaches, the Mitchelsons contact Anna and ask her to come to America with her baby to be their au pair. Anna eagerly accepts and travels halfway around the world with her baby to start her exciting new life in America. But the Mitchelsons have their own agenda and Anna's dream come true soon turns into her darkest nightmare. Lured into Mexico, kidnapped by hired killers and almost murdered, Anna is saved by ex-gang member, Eddie Sanchez (MARCO LEONARDI "Cinema Paradiso," "Like Water For Chocolate") who offers to help her. But Eddie is also a marked man, as (William Stone PAUL WINFIELD "Presumed Innocent," Sounder," Terminator"), a grieving father out for revenge, wrongly believes Eddie murdered his son and is determined to kill him. Fighting for their lives, together Eddie and Anna must scramble across the Mexican border to find their way back to the Mitchelsons and reunite Anna with her baby. But just as Anna thinks her nightmare is over, she realizes that it has just begun. For the first time, Anna becomes aware that she has been duped by the Mitchelsons who have taken her baby as their own. Panicked, she desperately tries to rescue her baby and with Eddie at her side, they are forced into a deadly, all out confrontation with the Mitchelsons on the dark waters of the open sea.
