A four-hour miniseries about a feisty American widow swept up in a bitter property feud and a stormy romance in the great outback of Australia. Kate Hannon, a working woman from Los Angeles with two teen-age children, marries an Australian widower with two daughters. She follows him to his Outback ranch in Australia to begin their new lives together, much to her own children's resentment. When she arrives in Australia, she discovers that her husband has been killed in a plane crash. She inherits not only his drought-striken ranch, but also the responsibility for his two mistrustful children.
