The story, set in a small Texas prairie town in 1962, follows old Colonel J.C. Kincaid's efforts to keep a lakefront tract of land he loves so much from his son Floyd, a businessman who wants to develop it. The title is derived from the fact that Kincaid is the only surviving member of a local military academy. Telecast live from the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University.
